With winter’s fast approach, finding weekend fun for the whole family in Wilmington becomes challenging. So to combat the cold and the snow be sure to check out the Northeast Comic Con and Collectibles Extravaganza at Wilmington’s Shiner’s Auditorium on December fifth and sixth.
The Comic Con is a congregation of all things pop culture from favorite super heroes and movies to television and celebrities. Explore your favorite DC and Marvel comic book adventures while meeting the creators of these legendary super heroes. Renown artist George Perez illustrator of The Avengers and Wonder Woman be in attendance as well as Disney artist Philo Barnhart a key animator of The Little Mermaid.
Kids have an entire area dedicated to their enjoyment that includes mask making, coloring, drawing, story creation workshops, and puppet performances by Noel MacNeal of Disney’s “Bear in the Big Blue House”.
However, the Comic Con is certainly an event for all ages. With live entertainment featured all day, stand up comedians, panels, workshops and much more there is something for everyone. And these events are only the tip of the Iceberg. With over fifty exhibits, more than thirty special guests and speakers, almost twenty different attractions and full food service and bar the Comic Con is chock full of activities, amusements, and leisure.
So come dressed as your favorite fictional character or just as yourself to see everything the Comic Con has to offer including the cast members of classics such as Ghostbusters, Toy Story, Power Rangers, and A Christmas Story.
